I have always been interested in the technical (scientific) aspects of modeling and making sure that others understand safety and proper technical methods in building and flying model aircraft. Many of my technical hints, tips, and techniques were published in Radio Control Modeler magazine, R/C Report, Model Airplane News, and other hobby publications. I have been invited to write articles for the amateur radio publication CQ-VHF regarding the use of Radio Control on the six-meter (50 MHz) radio band.

I have been active in training new members in building and flying skills and have contributed research information to columnists for R/C Report magazine. I use email and the internet to keep current with the trends in Radio Control to share with others. I wrote letters to Congressmen, Senators, and the FCC regarding the protection of our radio bands for the hobby/sport, and encourage others in our club to do the same.

I have given kit assembly instructions at club meetings and show Radio Control flying videos. I have helped in preparing club newsletters and in mailing them. I was also Club Team-Leader for two-meter sailplane contests.

I am proud to be a Leader Member of the AMA. I hold an Associate in Applied Science diploma and am a licensed amateur radio operator, number KC5ZJG.

I enjoy sailplanes and thermal hunting, and relaxed 1930s vintage Old-Timer flying. I also like Sport, IMAC, Scale, Semi-Scale building and flying, and Fun-Fly crafts. Flying on afternoons and Saturday mornings, and helping others on Sunday afternoons are enjoyable. Attending swap meets and buying and selling used Radio Control equipment on the internet are also activities I enjoy.
