Don Grissom

Having always wanted to fly airplanes growing up, I did not get into flying until 2000. I joined a local club and was instantly hooked on flying.

I fly many types of airplanes, from Scale warbirds to sport airplanes. I started RC Combat in 2004, when a few club members started flying Combat on the weekends. This was also my first year of going to the Nationals, although I only participated in the Marathon before Muncie (which was SSC Combat).

Since then I have been going to the Nationals every year, covering Combat for Model Aviation and NatsNews.

Don’s column appears bi-monthly, in the January, March, May, July, September, and November issues. His email address is dongrissom@hilltopflyers.net.
