Judith Lebakken, Rosemount, Minnesota, received $2,000. Graduating from Rosemount Senior High with a GPA of 3.8, she was a member of the National Honor Society, won letters in swimming, competed on the math team, served as a student tutor, and still found time to join the international club. Her many interests include foreign languages, crafts, computers, and 4-H. Judith became involved with model aviation through her father and in four years progressed from beginner to competent flier. As an active 4-H member, she entered her models in their annual aerospace competitions, winning blue ribbons and awards of excellence. Her main interest lies in Radio Control sailplanes and she is a member of her local club.
Flying with her father and brother as often as possible, she was working towards LSF level II at last report. She hopes to find time to continue her model activities while at the university. Her goals involve aerospace and computer science, but she is also aiming at foreign studies.
