Milton McGuffin, from Houlton, Maine, has many claims to the Goldberg Award. As club president since 1979, he has promoted many good things for Maine modelers – a new club field, programs for kids, “Hands across the Border,” whereby Canadian modelers are welcomed, talks to inmates of nursing homes; the list goes on and on.
He gives demonstrations and presentations to service clubs, and also organizes air shows, fun-fly events, and club barbecues to which the public is invited. Never too tired to share his knowledge, he has contributed greatly to the increase in aeromodeling interest in the state of Maine. He has produced the club newsletter for the past six years. He designed the new club logo. Overall, he has given hundreds of hours to benefit the sport and his fellow hobbyists – truly a deserving recipient of this honor.
