Ronald C. Segura is from New Iberia, Louisiana, and was in the senior high school there. He will graduate in mid-1994 and plans to attend either the University of Texas or the Air Force Academy. His big interests are Aeronautical Engineering and Medicine. At present, he is holding a GPA of 3.852.
A member of the Cajun Radio Control Club, he is a very active competitor. He joined AMA in 1985 and later took NSRCA membership because of his strong interest in Pattern flying. He has won many local and regional contests, and the Best Junior Award at the 1991 Nats. His skills have moved him all the way from the Sportsman Class to the Masters level, and in 1992 at the NPAC, he took first place. In school, he has done well, receiving Academic Honors in all three years of study at Iberia Senior High. He has been recognized with awards at parish and regional Science and Social Studies Fairs and has been selected to be a member of the National Honor Society each year since 1991.
Supportive of school organizations, he enjoys the activities of the Beta Club, Science Olympiad, the Interact Club, and the Spirit Assembly. He has been Class Representative to the Jacket Assembly since 1991. In his junior year, he was named Outstanding Junior.
Aaron has assisted in community work at various Rotary and Octagon Club public programs. After Hurricane Andrew, he worked as a flagman, controlling traffic for 12 hours daily for 10 days. As a citizen interested in the environment, he was a dedicated and willing volunteer during the Bayou Teche cleanup.
He finds time for tennis and won his varsity standing all three years at school. He is a keen duck-hunter, with skeet shooting a favorite pastime to hone his skills with a shotgun.
