William H Fletcher

William H. Fletcher, Contest Board member of District II, resides at 86-36 55th Ave, Elmhurst 73, New York. He has served as a member of the Contest Board several times and was District II Vice President in 1953.

He has been interested in model building since 1936, first becoming an AMA member in 1941. His present interests are varied among Wakefield, Nordic, FAI Power, and Radio Control. He has been a record holder in hydro rubber, towline, and hand-launched glider classes. Bill has served as Secretary –Treasurer of the Prop Spinners, a local club, and has directed all Prop Spinners contests since 1943. He was a chief official of the 1954 FAI World Championships at Suffolk County Air Force Base.

Bill is known best for his work on the AMA International Competition Committee since 1951 and his efforts, plus those of other I.C.C. members, have been largely responsible for the success of our international model program. He has been on the AMA Free Flight Scale Advisory Committee since 1953.
